Photographer and curator, I am a PhD candidate at the University of Bern.

My research focuses on the relationship between photography and literature, with a particular interest in contemporary travel writing of the 20th century, ranging from short reportages to extended travel narratives, often ethnographic in nature.

I strive to revitalize the past and narrate the present through various expressive mediums: photography, literature, and a dynamic use of media, always with a special care for the anthropological aspect.

I have worked with archives and foundations to bring to light previously unpublished photographic heritage, including that of Tiziano Terzani, for whom I curated three exhibitions and the new edition of Un indovino mi disse (Longanesi, 2024).

After a classical high school education, I studied Modern Literature at the University of Milan, the University of Edinburgh, and the University of Warwick.

In 2022 I was awarded the AIF New Photography Prize.

My father’s homeland lies deep in the Argentine Pampa. My grandfather’s – his father’s – is in the French Pyrenees. These scattered roots meant that, since I was a child, I travelled extensively and for long periods with my family. L’Elzeviro viaggiatore has been narrating these adventures for some years now.
